The annual City Open House is fast approaching. It is one of the biggest and most anticipated public engagement activities hosted by the City.
Where is it? The Drill Hall at Co-op Place (4513 50 Avenue)
When is it? Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What can you do at the open house? The open house is a great way to interact with City staff who you might not normally see and ask them questions about their role with the City. It’s a great opportunity to put names to faces and learn about all the services and programs the City provides for residents.
But it’s not just an educational opportunity. There will be other activities, such as:
Free barbecue lunch (hot dogs, drinks, chips, cake, and other sweets)
Bounce castles
Backyard games
Fire and enforcement services vehicles on display
Free swag and other contests
Complete the Open House Passport and enter your name in a draw for the GRAND PRIZE: a Nintendo Switch!
Who will be there? Everyone is invited! Bring your family, grab your neighbour or colleague, and join us for lunch!
City staff will be working the grill and there will be representatives from every City department on hand to chat with, including:
Administration
Airport
Communications
Economic development
Enforcement services
Engineering
Finance
Fire services
Fleet and Facilities
Human Resources
Planning and Development
Public Works (Parks, Transportation, Waste and Recycling)
Recreation
A few external partners will be joining us too, including Aquatera, ATCO, Fortis, and Wetaskiwin Public Library.
