What does community mean to you?
Imagine standing in front of a large, blank canvas with a paintbrush in your hand. Your neighbours, friends, and other community members are standing with you, each holding their own paintbrush. You can paint as little or as much as you want, but you must add something of your own design to the canvas.
The painting begins and you stand back, watching in awe as those around you add beautiful, vibrant colours to the canvas. Eventually you step forward to add your own brush strokes. It is crowded, but those painting recognize your place among them and smile as you approach the canvas. You feel supported and encouraged to participate. Your contribution is a valued part of the whole.
That is one example of community.

Where do you find belonging?
Wherever you find a sense of belonging, you find community. Where in Wetaskiwin have you had these positive, connective experiences? It could be a cafe, a park, or even a yoga studio.
